Forest management could create 10 million new jobs

This can help cushion the impact of the job losses the current downturn has seen. “The dual challenges of economic turmoil and climate change are bringing the management of forests to the forefront of global interest,” observes the ‘State of the World’s Forests 2009′ report brought out by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) on the occasion of the World Forest Week that ended on March 20.
